Monkey Poem for Creative Writing

In the forest
Monkeys race
Swinging, mingling,
Sharing secrets,
And laughing at all
Who do not know the simplicity of life
Like those who live in nature learn,
And as the breeze carries their sounds of laughter to the village
The monkeys snicker as they hide-
No humans will discover them here.

Outrun the Pain

Run like the wind is chasing you
Run to outrun the sun
Run like you never want to come back
Run to outrun the pain.

Run like you stole something
Run to outrun the cops
Run like the bullies are chasing you
Run to outrun the pain.

Run like you’re in the rodeo ring
Run to outrun the mad bull
Run like the cheetah, free in the plains
Run to outrun the pain.

And finally- run
Because running is fun
Run like you’re wild and free.

Run Away Fast

The gun goes off
The racers run wild
The competition is fast
The weather is mild.
Push the limits
Run as fast as you can
To be the champion
You must be the best trackman.
The finish line’s in sight
It’s the last hundred meters
In this wonderful sport,
There are no kinds of cheaters.
Give it all you’ve got
And a little bit more
If you win the race,
The crowd will roar.
You’re almost there
You’re ahead of them all
You’re so tired
You want to crawl.
Now is the time
To run with your heart
From the legs that carry you,
You almost depart.
Bring it on in
Run it in strong
Whether you win or lose
In this sport you belong.

Run Away

We rise before the sun
To find beauty
To find peace
Nature is our motivation
To find beauty
We dance to the music of our pounding hearts
Nature is our motivation
We leave our tracks on the earth.
We dance to the music of our pounding hearts
To find peace
We leave our tracks on the earth
We rise before the sun.

Run

Early riser
Find peace
Running is our obsession.
Effort, performance, motivation
Shoes are our tires
Competition is our fuel
Run wild
Push the limits-
You can finish
Pain is weakness leaving the body.
Runaway to nature
Dress appropriately: you won’t want to come back.

6 Line Pantoum for Creative Writing

I wish I were on a beach where the sun was shining,
With the sand between my toes,
The breeze warming me
No one’s there to bother me.

With the sand between my toes,
Everything is peaceful.
No one’s there to bother me-
Except my mind full of what I must remember.

Everything is peaceful,
The breeze is warming me,
Except my mind full of what I must remember.
I wish I were on a beach where the sun was shining.

First Poem for Creative Writing

Early, calm, quiet
Comfort
Three loons swimming
Heads under water
In the cool dawn
A child’s cry breaking the silence
Two loons flying off

10 Line Pantoum for Creative Writing

For once the door didn’t creak
As I slipped outside to the hammock swing
For the lat time that summer-
Maybe forever.

As I slipped outside to the hammock swing
The loons are calling; I want to fly away with them
Maybe forever
No one’s awake to stop me {sigh}.

The loons are calling; I want to fly away with them
I want to stay here forever
No one’s awake to stop me {sigh}.
I’ll miss this calm.

I want to stay here forever.
I see a man fishing in the early mist.
I’ll miss this calm.
I slip back into the cabin.

I see a man fishing in the early mist.
For the last time that summer
I slip back into the cabin.
For once the door didn’t creak.

In Loving Memory of Richard Trudeau

As I look back into the distance
At the times that we have shared
Riding bikes, washing cars
I know you always cared.

These times don't last forever though,
Eventually they end.
But I want to thank you for being there
Because you always were a friend.

There's one more thing I want to say
Before you go somewere that's new.
I know you always loved me
And I'll always love you too.

Untitled

I didn't get to say goodbye
And now you've gone away.
I'll never see your face again
And together we won't play.

These circumstances sadden me
To the fullest of extremes.
I never got to know you well
This is how it seems.

I guess it's true
What they always say
You never appreciate people
Until they've gone away.

I miss you now
I'll miss you always
But through the light the sun gives out
I'll see your brilliant rays.
